Questions

Where does the list come from?
USAspending.gov, the official source for federal spending, searched for contract awards to recipients located in the state in the last 30 days. Amounts are the obligations in that window.
Are these first-time awardees?
Not necessarily. The list is every company that received an award in the window, so it includes long-standing contractors with new money alongside first-timers. The registration date on SAM.gov tells them apart; the new government contractors feed lists the first-timers.
How is the website found?
From the company's SAM.gov registration when we hold it, otherwise matched from the name and marked with how sure the match is.
Can I narrow it by agency or industry?
Yes. Follow the feed and then edit the saved search on the Find tab: add an agency, NAICS codes or keywords. The District of Columbia list here is the broadest cut.
